Have you been meaning to build a course for two years? Do you know your subject completely and freeze at the question of what module one should be? Have you started an outline three times and abandoned it each time at the same point?

Knowing a subject and structuring it for somebody else are unrelated skills. Expertise actually makes the second harder, because you no longer remember not knowing. The AI Course Creator produces a structure you can argue with, which is easier than producing one from silence.

What is AI Course Creator?

It designs course structure. Name the subject, the audience and the length, and it returns modules with outcomes attached.

Structure is the deliverable. It does not produce the teaching itself, the videos, the slides or the assessments, and a course outline is perhaps a tenth of the work of a finished course. What it removes is the specific paralysis of the empty outline.

Important A generated outline reflects how the subject is conventionally taught, which may not be how it should be taught. The interesting courses usually break the standard sequence somewhere. Use the outline as the conventional version to react against rather than the one to build.

Why Use AI Course Creator?

Because the expert's problem is not content, it is deciding what to leave out and in what order.

The problemBuilding aloneBuilding from an outline
Where to startThree abandoned attemptsA first module to accept or reject
The curse of expertiseModule one assumes too muchA structure pitched at a stated level
ScopingEverything feels essentialA defensible cut, which you can then argue with
OutcomesWritten afterwards to fitStated per module, before the content exists

Who Should Use It?

  • Freelancers and consultants turning expertise into a paid course
  • Trainers designing internal programmes for a workplace
  • Lecturers building a new module from scratch
  • Community educators running short courses without institutional support
  • Anyone whose outline has stalled at the same point three times

How Does AI Course Creator Work?

The site runs every tool on one working surface. Here it is designing a course.

  1. Prompt input area. A large box for the subject, the audience, the total length and what learners should be able to do at the end.
  2. AI model selector. Choose the engine first, from MSB AI, OpenAI ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude AI, xAI Grok AI, DeepSeek, Qwen, Meta AI, NVIDIA AI, OpenRouter AI and MiniMax.
  3. Advanced options accordion. Collapsed until opened, holding the ten controls below.
  4. Generate button. Your brief, engine and settings run through the prompt engineering layer, the instruction wrapper telling the model to produce a course structure.
  5. Output section. The outline lands in the result card with a running word count in the footer.
  6. Export tools. DOC, TXT and HTML downloads beneath the card, which is how an outline gets circulated for comment.
  7. Activity history panel. Earlier outlines queue underneath with copy, listen, reuse, download and open result, so competing structures can be compared side by side.

Pro tip Write the final outcome first and let the structure work backwards from it. A course designed around what somebody can do at the end is coherent almost automatically, while one designed around what you know tends to sprawl.

Key Features

Modules with outcomes

Include Key Points attaches what learners can do after each module, which is the part usually written last and badly.

Pitched to a stated level

Naming the audience stops module one assuming knowledge only you have, which is the classic expert mistake.

A defensible cut

The outline decides what is out as well as what is in, giving you something concrete to disagree with.

Competing structures

Two runs produce two possible shapes for the same course, which is far more useful than one.

Something to circulate

DOC exports let colleagues or a client comment on the shape before any content is made.

Advanced Options Guide

Ten real settings, nothing preselected.

OptionWhat it controlsWhen to change itWhere to start
Output TypeThe form: Standard, Detailed, Concise, Structured, Template, Step by Step, Professional or CreativeTemplate if you deliver courses to a fixed formatStructured. A course is a hierarchy of modules and outcomes
Tone / StyleThe register: Professional, Formal, Friendly, Simple, Academic, Persuasive, Confident or NeutralAcademic for accredited work, Professional for commercialProfessional. It reads as a working document
LengthThe size: Short, Normal, Long or DetailedDetailed when the outline is the deliverable for a clientNormal. An outline nobody finishes reading gets no feedback
Focus / AudienceThe reader: Students, Teachers, Parents, Self-Learners, Beginners, Exam Candidates, Tutors or GeneralSet it to who takes the course, not who designs itBeginners, unless your course genuinely assumes prior study
Include ExamplesAdds illustrations of module contentOn, since abstract module titles hide disagreementsOn. "Fundamentals" means nothing until it is unpacked
Use Clear StructureModules, numbering and hierarchyNever offOn, always
Include Key PointsAdds learning outcomes per moduleEffectively never off for course designOn. Outcomes written first produce a better course
Age-Appropriate LanguageAdjusts vocabulary to the learnerOn for courses aimed at young peopleOff for professional and adult courses
Detail LevelSlider from 1 to 100, outline through to full specificationRaise it when somebody else will build the contentAround 60. Enough to see the shape and the gaps
Custom InstructionsFree text up to 1000 charactersEvery run. Duration, format and constraints go hereTotal hours, delivery format, and what learners must be able to do at the end

Example Outputs

Bea is a bookbinder who wants to turn her workshop teaching into a six week evening course. She opens the AI Course Creator with the end point fixed.

Brief: Six week evening course in hand bookbinding,
two hours a week, in person, maximum eight people.
Complete beginners, no craft background assumed. By
the end each person should have made one case bound
book with a sewn text block. I have a fully equipped
bench. Materials cost is included in the fee.

Output Type = Structured
Tone / Style = Professional
Length = Normal
Focus / Audience = Beginners
Include Examples = On
Use Clear Structure = On
Include Key Points = On
Age-Appropriate Language = Off
Detail Level = 60
Custom Instructions = Twelve contact hours total.
Everyone must finish a complete book, so nothing can
overrun. Sewing must come early enough that glue has
drying time between sessions.

Note Physical constraints are the ones a generated outline most reliably misses. Drying time, equipment that only two people can use at once, a room that has to be cleared by nine. State them explicitly, because a beautifully sequenced course that ignores them cannot actually be taught.

The drying time instruction reshaped the whole sequence, which no generic bookbinding outline would have accounted for. Once the modules exist, the individual sessions get planned with the AI Lesson Plan Generator.

Tips & Common Mistakes

  • ✅ Write the final outcome before anything else
  • ✅ State the total contact hours, not just the number of weeks
  • ✅ Name every physical or practical constraint
  • ✅ Generate two structures and compare them
  • ✅ Treat the conventional sequence as something to improve on
Common mistakeWhat happensThe fix
Designing around what you knowA course that sprawls and never quite endsStart from the final outcome and work backwards
Not stating constraintsA sequence that cannot physically be deliveredList equipment, timing and room limits explicitly
Accepting the first structureThe conventional course, which already existsGenerate a second and take the better half of each
Outcomes written lastObjectives retrofitted to contentTurn Include Key Points on and lead with outcomes

What works well

  • Breaks the empty outline problem that stalls most courses
  • Outcomes per module arrive rather than being retrofitted
  • Two competing structures make the design decisions visible
  • Free to use, with no account needed

What to watch for

  • It produces the conventional sequence, not the best one
  • Practical constraints get missed unless stated
  • The outline is a small fraction of building a real course
  • It has no idea what your learners will actually struggle with

AIToolsay is a free platform with a large library of AI tools, this course creator among them. Each tool handles one job, comes with its own controls, and runs on prompt engineering written for that job. Nothing needs registering for and nothing installs. A menu at the top picks the engine, spanning MSB AI, OpenAI ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude AI and others, and two runs of the same brief give you two structures to choose between. Course building spans design, lessons and assessment, which is why several of these end up open together. Browse them from the AIToolsay homepage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it create the course content?

No. It produces the structure: modules, sequence and outcomes. The teaching material, slides and assessments are separate work, and considerably more of it.

Is the AI Course Creator free?

It costs nothing, and there is no sign up step.

Will the outline be original?

It will be conventional, which is a reasonable starting point and a poor finishing one. The courses worth taking usually depart from the standard sequence somewhere.

How do I stop it assuming too much?

Set Focus to Beginners and state explicitly what learners will not know. Expertise makes it easy to forget how much module one has to cover.

Can it handle practical constraints?

Only if you state them. Drying times, shared equipment and room availability are exactly what a generic outline ignores.

Should I generate more than one structure?

Yes. Two outlines for the same course show you which decisions were arbitrary and which were forced, and the final version is usually a mix.

The hard part of building a course is not knowing the subject. It is being willing to leave things out and to accept an order that serves the learner rather than the material. A draft structure makes both of those into edits rather than acts of creation.

So open the AI Course Creator, write down what somebody should be able to do on the last evening, and build backwards from there. Thanks for reading to the end, and I hope the outline that has stalled three times finally gets past module two.
