Why this catalogue

Projects You Can Actually Build

Every entry is open source, currently maintained, and documented well enough to start from.

SOURCE FIRST

Every Project Is Readable

Each entry links straight to its repository, so you can read the code and judge the thing before you commit an afternoon to it.

The Real Stack, Named

Languages, frameworks and infrastructure are listed per project — not left as "some AI" — so you know what you are signing up to run.

Honest Difficulty

Beginner through expert, set against what the project actually asks of you: the toolchain, the hardware and the prerequisites.

Licences Up Front

MIT, Apache, AGPL or something bespoke — stated on the card, because it decides whether you can ship what you build.

Self-Host or Call an API

Filter to what runs on your own hardware, or to what only needs a key. Both are legitimate; the catalogue does not assume.

Built to Browse

Category, technology and tag hubs cross-cut the same catalogue, so you can arrive from whichever direction you already think in.

What counts as an AI project here?

Something you can build rather than something to read about — projects you can open, run and adapt, across machine learning, AI agents, generative AI, automation and chatbots.

Are the projects free to use?

Many are. Filter by Price to see the free ones, and check the License filter before you build anything commercial on top — terms differ from one project to the next and the project's own licence is always the last word.

How do I find one that fits my stack?

Use the sidebar. Technology narrows to the language and framework you already work in, and Project Type and Category narrow to the kind of thing you are building, so you can cut the list down before reading a single description.

What does Difficulty mean?

How much AI and engineering background a project assumes before you can get it running — not how long it takes. Duration is filtered separately, so a beginner project can still be a long one.

Can I submit my own project?

Yes — use the Submit link in the header. Every request is reviewed by our team.

How often is the list updated?

Continuously. New projects are added as we find them and existing entries are revisited when they ship a release, change licence or go quiet.
